A great way to make a huge impact in your home is to step up your stairwell.
We love the sculptural quality of spiral stairs, whether they are in wood, metal,
enclosed, open, all of it.But if you're looking for a way to up the style factor,
try an unexpected carpet choice, a bold paint color, a dramatic
coat of black lacquer or a runner or strip of paint.

Being fearless is scary stuff. Taking risks and stepping into the unknown is unnatural,
but it usually leads to the best experiences, new favorites, and life altering turns of fate.
So with a lot of things happening in life lately, today we are facing fate
with open arms and a good dose of fearlessness.
If only our sleeping habits could realize our brave state of mind ;-)

We're loving the boho Scandinavian mix of this Denmark home. It's only fitting that the
owners of super groovy Danish interiors store, Base 212, would shave such a stylish abode.
We love how they've taken the iconic crisp and clean contrast of Scandinavian design and
injected it with color and a 70's mod vibe. This home would make a perfect transplant here
to our California home base, just add some surf boards leaned in a corner
and you've got the coolest beach house out there.

We're SO excited - one of our favorite bloggers is being published and has just shared a peek
at her book cover! Out this coming October, we are already counting down the days until
we can get our hands on this book that is sure to be a favorite. If you don't already read
Erin Gates' blog – Elements of Style – DO. She has great style in both design and fashion,
gives awesome resources and advice, and shares incredible personal insights.
In the day-to-day craziness that is life, especially with the drag that daylight savings brings us,
it doesn't hurt to remind yourself how lucky you are in life and to be thankful for the good things.
So even if you needed an extra cup of coffee this morning (or an extra two or three),
remember … everything is amazing.

British interior designer Harriet Anstruther's 1840's London town house has us drooling over it's perfect mix of traditional and contemporary elements. The black and white palette with vibrant pops of color is so ideal, we're ready to pack up and move across the pond. For even more images of this beautiful space and an interview with the designer, head over to Flodeau.
Lamps tend to be one of those objects that are an after thought, often hand me downs or something you've had and moved from place-to-place, and not necessarily picked for the space they currently reside. But lamps and lighting are an important part of how a room feels and can have so much style! Picking the right lamps and the right amount of them is key to giving a room a cozy, warm light ... and why not make a statement while doing it?
